Book Review: Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek

Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek
Did you know that to be a great leader and team player you needed to understand boby chemicals and biology? I had no idea!!
Simon writes about leadership by recentering People and Relationships. He urgues us to strive to be the leaders we wish we had.
Drawing from real life stories and scenarios, the author brings to life the consequences of human behavior over time and space and shows that disregarding people will always lead to a downfall, sooner or later.
Simon defines Integrity as when our words and deeds are consistent with our intentions and that every leader needs it. The world needs, more than ever before, leaders who have integrity.
Two extracts from the book :
1. "it is not the work we remember with fondness, but the camaraderie, how the group came together to get the things done. And the reason is natural. In an effort to get us to help one another during times of struggle, our bodies release oxytocin. In other words, when we share the hardship, we biologically grow closer."
2. " Leadership is not a license to do less ; it is a responsibility to do more. And that's the trouble. Leadership takes work. It takes time and energy. The effects are not always easily measured and they are not always immediate. Leadership is always a commitment to human beings"
Read it and be inspired.
